The Challenge

We are looking for a Productivity Manager, with a big passion for R&D and biscuits. We offer you the opportunity to join our team and contribute to our mission to bring ‘Happiness with every bite’.

The position entails

As the Productivity Lead for Western Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa & Australasia at pladis Global, you will play a vital role in driving efficiency, process improvement, and cost reduction initiatives to drive profitability in operations. Your responsibilities will include specification rationalization, recipe improvement & optimization, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.This role will drive the cost base reduction agenda, managing technical oversight and prioritization, and coordinating project delivery from conception through to delivery with the support of the local region(s) and procurement.

Your main responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include product specification and recipe improvement, commodity and supplier optimization, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce the cost base for the company by analyzing operational processes, supply chain, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline production processes, increase throughput, and reduce waste, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Product Specification & Recipe Improvement: Work within the R&D team to enhance product specifications and recipes, resulting in cost-efficient, yet high-quality products.
  • Commodity & Supplier Optimization: with the support of procurement, develop strategies to optimize commodity procurement, vendor relationships, and sourcing practices to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to track and measure the success of cost-saving initiatives and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Change Management: Implement and drive a culture of continuous improvement, providing guidance and leadership to operational teams.
  • Project Management: Organizecross-functional site teams and projects aimed at achieving cost reduction goals, ensuring timely and successful project completion with stakeholder involvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks to supply chain and manufacturing processes, ensuring continuity and cost control.
  • Business Sustainability: Support the pladis Global Decarbonization science-based target ambitions.
  • What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of years of experience in a similar role within the baked snack manufacturing industry, ideally with a focus on cost optimization, process improvement and/or quality control.

  • Strong understanding of R&D, supply chain, and production processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change within an organization.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent self awareness.

  • A willingness to travel up to % as needed internationally, experience working with different teams and delivering results across different countries & sites is advantageous.

  • Must be fluent in English, fluency in Turkish, Dutch, or French is advantageous.
