Job description

Our client is looking for a dynamic and organized individual to manage their first pilot store, approximately 2700 sqm in size, in Zaandam, Netherlands. As the Store Manager, you will be the central coordinator for this project.
Your role will be diverse and engaging, involving the initial setup of the store, supporting the recruitment and supervision of around 8 employees, ensuring excellent customer service, and optimizing logistics processes.
You will need to plan and prioritize activities to enhance the store’s efficiency and surpass the goals set by our client, ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include maintaining product availability, ensuring proper stock, displaying accurate prices, and training staff.
In addition to managing the sales floor, you will uphold and execute our client’s brand and values. This involves recruiting, training, developing, and motivating your team to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor progress, address issues, and implement solutions to keep the store opening on track.

Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a collaborative work environment. Assign tasks and ensure efficient operations.

Maintain high customer service standards, manage inquiries and complaints, and train staff on best practices.

Oversee inventory management, implement control processes, and coordinate deliveries.

Develop and refine SOPs, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Liaise between the store and HQ, reporting performance and challenges, and ensure effective internal communication.

Manage the budget, analyze financial reports, and implement cost-control measures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship & Retail Management, or a related field preferred.

5-7 years of experience in retail management or a similar role.

Proven project management experience in retail, ideally with new store setups.

Strong leadership and team development skills.

Excellent customer service understanding.

Ability to develop and implement processes.

Availability for weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

Although English is the company’s internal language, fluency in Dutch is essential for this role to effectively handle all types of escalations.
