Project Control Engineer – Kenz-Figee – Zaandam


Job Description

As a Project Control Engineer at Kenz, you will be at the helm of planning and controlling complex engineering projects. You are the mastermind behind creating realistic plannings and continuously monitoring progress in time, costs and resources. 

Your role is pivotal in monitoring project costs, preparing regular reports for management review, and handling invoicing for new build projects according to contract requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of project management methodologies, cost control techniques, and advanced planning tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning software.
    • Create detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and define project milestones.
    • Coordinate planning activities across multiple departments including Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Assembly.
  2. Cost Control and Budgeting:

    • Establish and monitor project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
    • Implement cost control measures and perform variance analysis to identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with the finance department to prepare accurate financial forecasts and management reports.
  3. Progress Tracking and Reporting:

    • Monitor project progress against the schedule and provide status reports to stakeholders.
    • Perform critical path analysis and identify potential bottlenecks or delays.
  4. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project control-related matters, both internally and externally.
    • Present progress reports, financial summaries, and risk assessments to senior management.
    • Attend and prepare project meetings
  5. Invoicing and Contract Management:

    • Prepare and process project invoices in accordance with contractual agreements.
    • Ensure all billing is accurate, timely, and in compliance with project milestones and deliverables.


What do we ask for? 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project control, preferably within the maritime, offshore, or industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting techniques, and financial analysis.
  • Teamplayer, helicopterview, tech-savvy
