We are looking for an interim Implementation lead for the EUDR project. Starting asap until Q1 2026.
Context
At the end of 2025, the EU Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR) becomes effective. In order to make Ahold Delhaize EU compliant with this legislation, an European project organization is setup. The Implementation Lead, who is part of the European EUDR project team, will work closely with other stream leads (sourcing, process, legal, IT) and reports into the overall Project Lead.
Role objective
The Implementation Lead within the EUDR project will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the implementation of the EUDR solution for all brands. Together with the other Stream Leads and the brands, the Implementation Lead will draft an implementation plan for all deliverables. The Lead will coordinate with the streams and brands so that they produce the agreed upon deliverables, that (integral) testing is done (if needed) and the EUDR solution will be brought live in line with the EUDR go live date (currently 30 DEC 2025). Once stabilized, the EUDR solution will be handed over to the to-be-determined standing organization.
Key Result Area’s / Goals
KRA 1
Draft and maintain the overall implementation plan
- Based on the existing high level proejct plan and solution direction, work with the streams and brands to create a detailed implementation plan
- Have the implementation plan approved by al relevant stakeholders
- Periodic report out of the progess of the implementation plan and related risks to the overall project lead and relevant stakeholders
- Work with streams and brands on pragmatic solutions in case in order to be EUDR compliant in time, if needed by developing temporary workarounds.
KRA 2
Make sure the various streams and brands deliver the agreed upon products
- Deliver key implementation deliverables that support the Project Manager and Workstream Leads in achieving regulatory compliance across brands.
- Ensure all pre-requisites for implementation are completed, including system readiness, risk mitigation strategies, and process documentation.
- Align with brand coordinators to identify local process variances and ensure seamless integration with the central EUDR compliance process.
- Coordinate Go/No-Go readiness efforts, ensuring that all required signoffs are obtained from relevant stakeholders.
- Support the development and rollout of training materials, ensuring that end-users are fully enabled to adopt the new processes and compliance tools.
- Manage stakeholder communication and engagement, ensuring users understand their roles in regulatory compliance adoption.
- Work closely with the IT Lead to ensure that the technology solutions effectively support compliance workflows.
- Have solutions in place to monitor the performance of the solution after go live
- Ensure that risk mitigation strategies per brand are in place, ensuring all relevant parties sign off before final Go/No-Go approval.
- Develop and coordinate hypercare support during go live of EUDR
KRA 3
Handover of EUDR products to the standing organization
- Develop an handover procedure for EUDR products to the to-be-determined standing organization
- Make sure products are formally handed over the to-be-determined standing organization
Skills
- Good understanding of (Ahold Delhaize EU) commercial & replenishment processes
- Able to draft an overarching implementation plan in a complex environment with multiple streams
- Able to have the helicopter view on all deliverables from the various streams to make sure the solution will be complete and can function
