Important:
To process your application, we kindly ask you to submit a
motivation letter together with your CV. Applications without a
motivation letter will unfortunately not be considered in the
selection
process.
Your
new role
and workplace.
As an intern within the Data Differentiation Department (DDP),
you will contribute directly to improving financial transparency
and cloud cost insights within our data platform landscape. You
will work together with colleagues from the DDP Tech Platform team
to investigate how cloud spend can be allocated and analyzed at a
more meaningful level: the Use Case
level.
Within the department, cloud costs
are currently mainly linked to the ServiceNow concept of Business
Applications. While this provides financial insights at application
level, it offers limited visibility into the detailed cloud
resources and activities that actually drive costs. DDP works with
the concept of a Use Case: a concrete business or data-related
initiative for which teams use platform capabilities and data
services.
As an intern, you will support
the design and implementation of a new approach for allocating and
reporting cloud costs based on Use Cases.
During your internship, you will work on:
- Analyzing
the current financial reporting and cloud spend
setup. - Understanding how the Use Case
concept is applied within the department and across platform
services. - Designing a methodology for
allocating cloud costs to Use Cases. - Modelling
the required data structures and allocation
logic. - Creating a data model, preferably
implemented as a datamart or other persisted
solution. - Validating whether the proposed
solution provides more actionable and transparent cloud spend
insights. - Exploring, as a stretch goal,
possible solutions for allocating shared storage costs fairly
across users or Use
Cases.
During this internship,
you will gain hands-on experience in cloud financial management,
data modelling, analytics engineering, and platform governance. You
will work closely with technical and business stakeholders and
contribute to a practical solution that can improve financial
decision-making within the department. The internship is both
analytical and technical in nature and offers plenty of room for
initiative and independent
research.
In this role, you will work [32-40 hours]
per
week, partly from our head office and partly from home.
We
believe it is important that everyone at Albert Heijn can be
themselves in an environment that welcomes different perspectives
and values curiosity and collaboration. For this
internship, we especially encourage candidates who strengthen the
diversity of our teams in the broadest sense of
the word.
What we
offer you.
- An
interesting and versatile graduation internship at the headquarters
of Albert Heijn for 5/6 months starting in September
2026. - A challenging internship with real
responsibilities and practical impact. - An
internship allowance (€500 gross per four weeks) plus travel
reimbursement. - Social events and networking
opportunities with fellow interns. - An inclusive
environment where you can continuously develop yourself both
personally and
professionally.
What you bring.
With more than 125,000 colleagues, we
help millions of customers every day. And hopefully soon together
with you as our new intern. Especially if you bring analytical
thinking and a strong interest in cloud technology and data
modelling.
Additionally:
- You
are currently pursuing a HBO or WO degree, preferably in Computer
Science, Data Science, Information Management, Business Analytics,
or a related field. - You have affinity with
cloud platforms, data modelling, and
analytics. - You are comfortable working with
structured and complex datasets. - Experience
with Azure, Databricks, SQL, or financial reporting concepts is a
strong plus. - If you combine a passion for
technology and data with strong communication skills, that is a
great
match.
Furthermore, you are:
- Curious
and eager to learn. - Analytical and
detail-oriented in your way of
working. - Proactive enough to independently
investigate problems and propose
solutions.
