Together with your team, you will ensure optimal maintenance and execution of projects in the field of Electrical & Industrial Automation (E&IA)!
About the Company
Royal Verkade, founded in 1886 and known for brands like Verkade and Sultana, has been part of Pladis since 2016. Pladis is a global powerhouse with iconic brands such as McVitie’s, Godiva, and Ülker, boasting over 300 years of baking history.
At the Zaandam factory—where cookies have been baked for nearly 150 years—you’ll collaborate with approximately 250 colleagues to deliver the perfect final product.
The factory is highly automated, and there are many upcoming projects and upgrades aimed at further optimizing the production process. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and work closely with the CapEx Projects department. Occasionally, you’ll also collaborate with international colleagues to share knowledge and experience.
The Role
Your role encompasses three key areas:
People Management – You will coach, guide, and lead a team of approximately five technicians and engineers in the field of Electrical & Industrial Automation.
Technical & Work Organization – As the person responsible for the installations, you are the knowledge carrier and leader overseeing what needs to be done. You will plan and organize daily maintenance tasks and CapEx projects, working alongside other disciplines within the maintenance and projects departments.
You will manage and optimize maintenance and project budgets while developing long-term plans, which you will present to plant management with strong business cases. You will assess technical feasibility and risks, delegate tasks to contractors, and evaluate their performance and costs.
Stakeholder Management – Internally and externally, you will ensure your ideas and plans gain traction. You will proactively advise on matters within your expertise, and you will align and coordinate work efficiently with other departments.
Your Profile
This dynamic and challenging role is a great fit if you:
Have a bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Electrical Engineering and/or Industrial Automation.
Have knowledge of machine safety regulations and high-voltage applications (or are willing to learn).
Have experience with automated PLC/SCADA platforms and supporting software (MMS, ERP) or are eager to learn.
Have experience in the food or process industry.
Are familiar with technological developments in your field.
Are a strong communicator (fluent in Dutch).
Are energetic, ambitious, and a true team player, striving to get the best out of yourself and your team.
What We Offer
Full-time position (37.5 hours per week), working daily from 07:00 to 15:00.
24 vacation days + 10 additional time-off days.
Competitive salary: €55,000 – €75,000 gross per year, with great growth opportunities!
Bonus scheme of up to 10% of your annual salary.
